U.P. Sunrise Cottages consists of nine quiet, cozy lakefront cottages in the heart of the Upper Peninsula, on spring-fed Farmer Lake in Little Lake, Michigan.

Many of our guests make day trips to places including Marquette and Pictured Rocks in Munising, while others spend their entire vacation relaxing at our waterfront.

Further away: Big Bay, Kitch-iti-kipi, Copper Harbor, Porcupine Mountains, Tahquamenon Falls, Fayette

Winter activities: Snowmobiling, Cross country skiing and snowshoeing, Downhill skiing, Ice Fishing, Ice Climbing

Food and Supplies

Little Lake (one mile away): Brown’s Store has fuel, fish bait, a butcher and hot foods. The Throttle Bar and Grill

Gwinn (12-15 minutes away): Larry’s grocery, Family Dollar, Dollar General. Restaurants including the UP North Lodge, Poppi’s Pizzeria Mozzi, Daisy Joe’s and more!

Marquette (30 minutes away): Walmart, Meijer, Target, etc. Great variety of restaurants

It was small enough that I felt comfortable with my kids playing outside without direct supervision, but big enough that there was plenty to keep us all busy. We used all of the water toys, the aqua park and all of the yard games too! ... It was close enough for us to spend the day in Munising and Marquette.

Excellent cabins, beautiful location. Great for couples or families. The cabin was clean and cozy and the hosts were very accomodating and responsive. The bed and provided linens were very comfortable.

We made a last(ish) minute decision to cancel our hotel when our NMU student son requested that we bring the dogs and some homemade meals. I’m so glad that we found this place! ...The kitchen was very well stocked with all of the utensils and pans I needed to cook.

Great place to stay. Will definitely come back ...There is ALOT of accommodations as well for the water. Rate this 10 out of 10 all day long! Thanks for all the communication and helpfulness from the owners. Would recommend to all friends and family!

Snowmobiling trip, stayed 4 nights in cabin #6. Excellent location right off trail 8. Cabin was very comfortable and well equipped. Fantastic cinnamon rolls delivered to our door one morning. Will be back!

U.P. Sunrise Cottages consists of nine quiet, cozy lakefront cottages in the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, on spring-fed Farmers Lake. Let us be your family-friendly vacation destination, or your home base for exploring all the U.P. has to offer! Open year-round.

We are near NMU and Marquette, but well outside of town, and close to Sawyer International Airport (MQT).
